Chapter 6

לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ בִּ֭נְגִינוֹת עַֽל־הַשְּׁמִינִ֗ית מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃

To the conductor with melodies on the sheminith, a song of David.

יְֽהֹוָ֗ה אַל־בְּאַפְּךָ֥ תוֹכִיחֵ֑נִי וְֽאַל־בַּחֲמָתְךָ֥ תְיַסְּרֵֽנִי׃

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, and do not chastise me in Your wrath.

חׇנֵּ֥נִי יְהֹוָה֮ כִּ֤י אֻמְלַ֫ל־אָ֥נִי רְפָאֵ֥נִי יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּ֖י נִבְהֲל֣וּ עֲצָמָֽי׃

Be gracious to me, O Lord, because I languish; heal me, O Lord, because my bones are frightened.

וְ֭נַפְשִׁי נִבְהֲלָ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד (ואת) [וְאַתָּ֥ה] יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה עַד־מָתָֽי׃

And my soul is very frightened, and You, O Lord, how long?

שׁוּבָ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה חַלְּצָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֑י ה֝וֹשִׁיעֵ֗נִי לְמַ֣עַן חַסְדֶּֽךָ׃

Return, O Lord, rescue my soul; save me for the sake of Your loving- kindness.

כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין בַּמָּ֣וֶת זִכְרֶ֑ךָ בִּ֝שְׁא֗וֹל מִ֣י יֽוֹדֶה־לָּֽךְ׃

For there is no memory of You in death; in the grave, who will thank You?

יָגַ֤עְתִּי ׀ בְּֽאַנְחָתִ֗י אַשְׂחֶ֣ה בְכׇל־לַ֭יְלָה מִטָּתִ֑י בְּ֝דִמְעָתִ֗י עַרְשִׂ֥י אַמְסֶֽה׃

I am weary from my sighing; every night I sully my bed; I wet my couch with my tears.

עָשְׁשָׁ֣ה מִכַּ֣עַס עֵינִ֑י עָ֝תְקָ֗ה בְּכׇל־צוֹרְרָֽי׃

My eye is dimmed from anger; it has aged because of all my adversaries.

ס֣וּרוּ מִ֭מֶּנִּי כׇּל־פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֥ע יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה ק֣וֹל בִּכְיִֽי׃

Turn away from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the Lord has hearkened to the voice of my weeping.

שָׁמַ֣ע יְ֭הֹוָה תְּחִנָּתִ֑י יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה תְּֽפִלָּתִ֥י יִקָּֽח׃

The Lord has hearkened to my supplication; the Lord has accepted my prayer.

יֵבֹ֤שׁוּ ׀ וְיִבָּהֲל֣וּ מְ֭אֹד כׇּל־אֹיְבָ֑י יָ֝שֻׁ֗בוּ יֵבֹ֥שׁוּ רָֽגַע׃

All my enemies shall be ashamed and very frightened; they shall return and be ashamed in a moment.
